Design
Both the double bed and daybed, designed by Othmar Barth, are part of the original furnishings from the early 1970s. Everything has been lovingly restored, down to the finest detail; an example is the applique lamp from the 1970s, by the Italian lighting designer Goffredo Reggiani. This has been disassembled, polished and repainted. In combination with the American pine furniture and other timeless design pieces, the room is given an unmistakable retro charm.
Architecture
Pars pro toto: The double rooms on the first and second floors have their own loggias, from which to enjoy the glorious view onto the lake and park.
The Bathroom
When South Tyrolean architect Walter Angonese adapted the bathroom to today's requirements, he made sure that a timeless elegance would define the room: bright ceramic, glass, soft lighting, clean lines and simplicity in the furniture and fittings. Yet still they recall the design choices made by Barth at the very conception of Seehotel Ambach. For example, the bathroom lighting was attached to a conspicuous metallic pipe, in the style of the 1970s. For the opening of the glass doors in the shower area, the Brixen interior design company Barth devised an innovative solution. It is modern and distinctive, conforming to today's expectations of comfort, in the formal language of its original designer.
